Canada Job Grant Program
Companies are encouraged to invest in their employees with financial help from governments. They can apply for financial assistance to pay for the delivery of employee training and skills development programs.
Job Grant Programs are generally funded by the Federal Government through Canada Job Grant Programs but are administered through provincial governments. Conditions vary from province to province.
Employers can get up to $10,000 in government support per person for training costs.
These are “shared financing” programs, with the following general conditions:
- The training must be delivered by an eligible, third-party trainer
- Programs designed, developed and delivered as a partnership between a third-party and an organization are eligible for funding so long as they are delivered by the third-party trainer.
- Applications for grant funding must be made by the employer. The Logistics Institute cannot submit an application on behalf of the employer. Funding goes directly to the employer, not to the Institute.
- Employers with 100 or more employees contribute 1/2 the training cost.
- Employers with less than 100 employees contribute 1/6 of the training cost.
In-house programs designed, developed and delivered by a company to its employees do not qualify for funding.
The Logistics Institute has worked with companies that have successfully applied for job grants in the past and is considered an eligible third-party trainer in support of the above conditions.
Eligible Programs delivered by The Logistics Institute include:
The Canada Job Grant is administered by province. Program eligibility, requirements, deadlines and validity are managed by individual provinces and not controlled by the Logistics Institute.
